Office of Technology Resources

University of Central Missouri's Office of Technology is here to help you!  We are aware that Central's students, faculty and staff succeed when they have quality information and technology immersed into their environment.   We strive to research, design, implement, maintain and support technology resources and solutions for the university community in support of the goals of the Student Success Model.  It is our goal to maintain safe, reliable and confidential data and systems and provide a secure environment for University of Central Missouri constituents.

Departments

Applications Systems

Oversight of enterprise and departmental systems to include design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise and departmental systems. Banner system modules and the many layered applications that link to any of the Banner systems is a dominant focus of the Applications Systems team. In addition, Applications Systems has oversight and operational responsibility for enterprise database engines and the data contained in those databases.

Infrastructure Services

Oversight of enterprise and departmental servers and storage, core systems for network connectivity, authentication, security and data retention as well as the network infrastructure that provides data, voice, and video access and connectivity to campus. Duties and activities include design, implementation, engineering, deployment, support, and maintenance of aforementioned systems. This team is responsible for network traffic, wired and wireless connectivity, Internet access, remote access, and telecommunications.  This team also has the responsibility for equipment inventory and the network operations center, which is where server, storage, and core network equipment is located.

Technology Support Services

Oversight of end-user technology resources deployed across campus that includes deployment, support, and maintenance of workstations, laptops, smartphones, tablets, printers, copiers, scanners, etc. utilized by UCM students, faculty, and staff in the instructional spaces and across the many diversified workplaces across campus. Technology Support Services also includes the Technology Support Center that provides the first line of support to UCM constituents in support of technology resources. The Technology Support Center serves as the single point of reference for students, faculty, staff, and visitors to ask questions, report issues and problems, and submit requests for technology assistance. If resolution cannot be accomplished by the Technology Support Center, user contacts are routed to the appropriate team(s) within the Office of Technology.

Technology Operations

Responsible for departmental budgets and providing administrative support to Office of Technology departments. Technology Operations takes direction from the AVP / CIO and supports the overall operations of the Office of Technology to include such duties as, budget planning and forecasting, oversight of hardware and software contracts and licensing, assist with human resources activities, oversight of fiscal operations, and conducting other duties to support the overall operations of the Office of Technology.
