What you will study
In just seven courses, you’ll complete this minor and gain a strong foundation in
cellular, ecological and molecular biology.
You’ll start by taking an introductory course that exposes you to the basics of biology,
including the chemistry of life, cell structure, genetics, mechanisms of evolution,
the evolutionary history of biological diversity and ecology. You can then select
additional courses based on your career aspirations.
Focus your Biology minor with coursework such as:
- Basic Genetics GE
- Cell Biology
- General Ecology
- Plant Biology or Animal Biology
- General Chemistry GE or Introduction to the Sciences: Chemistry GE
You’ll also take one upper-level elective course. Our Biology minors have specialized
their studies with courses in Conservation Biology, Field Techniques in Biology, Microbiology
and Molecular Biology.
