Plant Identification Certificate

Did you know that there are nearly 400,000 plant species in the world? These flowers, herbs, shrubs, vegetables and other vegetation add to our knowledge about the world around us and equip us with new perspectives on how to approach current issues and questions in agriculture, health and the environment.

At the University of Central Missouri, our Plant Identification certificate introduces you to classification methods, basic plant biology and best practices as you explore plant structures and identification resources and tools. Many students in UCM’s Plant Identification certificate join the Wildlife Society, which is a leading organization for wildlife science, management and conservation in Missouri.

Apply tools and techniques such as ecological site assessments for construction, oil exploration, city planning and wildlife management.
