Scott Maple is the elementary music teacher at Martin Warren Elementary School in the Warrensburg School District. In his classroom, you will find students actively engaging in musical activities. Using a combination of elements from Orff, Kodaly, and Dalcroze, students sing, play various instruments, explore through movement, and listen to many types of musical examples. Students learn the basics of musical notation and develop their skills through playful activities and group exercises. In addition to his years at Martin Warren, Mr. Maple taught for eight years at Knob Noster Elementary School.
Mr. Maple has spent his teaching career sharing music duties with coaching tennis. He has been a head and/or assistant coach for boys and girls at both districts. In 2022, his team won the Class 1 Team State Championship.
Mr. Maple graduated summa cum laude form the University of Missouri - Kansas City with a bachelor's degree in Music Education. He received a Masters in composition/music theory from UCM. He is currently working on a Specialist Degree in Administration, also from UCM. He is a member of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and Missouri State Teachers Association. In 2020, Mr. Maple was voted the MSTA Warrensburg School District Elementary Educator of the Year. He went on to also be voted the 2020 MSTA Central
Region Elementary Educator of the Year.
