Aislinn Walters-Jakary is based out of Kansas City, Missouri and is internationally
recognized as an emerging performer and teacher of saxophone.
For over a decade she has been teaching, conducting, and adjudicating students ranging
from elementary school to the collegiate level. She works regularly with local middle
and high school programs in the Kansas City Metro area and hosts a private saxophone
lesson studio.
Aislinn maintains an active performance career, regularly playing at conferences and
clinics across the country. As a soloist, she was named the 2020 winner of the Music
Teachers National Association Young Artist competition for the state of Connecticut.
She is an avid lover of chamber music and co-founded the Event Horizon Saxophone Duo.
She made her international debut at the 2023 World Saxophone Congress in Las Palmas,
Gran Canaria, Spain, where Event Horizon was invited to premiere two works.
Aislinn has studied with some of the nation’s finest saxophonists including Zachary
Shemon, Carrie Koffman, Timothy McAllister, Otis Murphy, Chien-Kwan Lin, Kenneth Tse,
Stephen Page, and Steven Banks. She holds an MM in saxophone performance from The
Hartt School of Music, along with a BA in music education and a BM in saxophone performance
from Fort Hays State University. She is currently pursuing an Artist’s Certification
at the University of Kansas City – Missouri.
