Dr. Shari Bax Dr. Shari Bax has led the division of Student Experience and Engagement since 2012. She has a B.A. from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Dr. Bax joined the faculty at UCM in 1997; and is a full professor in Political Science. Dr. Bax is the advisor for the Student Government Association. She is also the campus coordinator for the American Democracy Project. Dr. Bax joins the student group Breakers when it travels over Alternative Spring Break to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity International. As a faculty member, Dr. Bax advised several student organizations including serving as a chapter advisor for a sorority. Dr. Bax has served on the Warrensburg Planning and Zoning Commission and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Compass Health, a nonprofit health care organization. In 2001, she served as a member of the Missouri House Apportionment Commission. In her spare time Dr. Bax enjoys reading, cooking, scrapbooking, traveling and attending soccer games with her family. |
Dr. Corey Bowman Dr. Bowman has worked at UCM since 1996 in a variety of areas, including Residence Life, the Union, Facilities and Conference Services and Student Experience & Engagement. In his current role, Dr. Bowman's primary responsibilities are to serve and support students in crisis and assist them in overcoming obstacles. He oversees the campus judicial system, Campus Community Health which includes the Counseling Center, the Office of Health and Wellness Promotion, and the University Health Center, as well as the UCM Childcare Center, Title IX Coordination, parent relations, the CARE Team and the Threat Management Team. He works closely with students, parents and faculty on campus issues and student appeals. Dr. Bowman earned his doctorate in educational leadership and policy analysis at the University of Missouri - Columbia. He also studied at Miami University in Ohio, where he received a master's degree in college student personnel services and a bachelor's degree in sociology. Dr. Bowman coordinates the Missouri Boys State and Missouri Girls State leadership programs on behalf of UCM. |
