UCM Tools and Equipment

Central Missouri provides tools and equipment that require constant attention, skillful use, and regular maintenance. Employees have a responsibility to provide all machinery and equipment they receive the required levels of attention, skill, and maintenance. Defective or broken tools or equipment are to immediately be reported to the supervisor.

Employees should not use equipment with which they are not familiar or without first being trained by the supervisor.

No University of Central Missouri tools or equipment may be loaned to employees for personal use.

UCM Property Used at Home for Work-Related Purposes

Under specific circumstances, Central Missouri property, such as a laptop computer, may be used at home for work-related purposes. Supervisors are to grant permission before Central Missouri property is taken home and are to request it be returned to campus to verify use for inventory purposes.

Good Housekeeping

Central Missouri employees are asked to take pride in their work areas and to make a special effort to keep UCM clean and professional at all times.

UCM Vehicles

Employees are expected to exercise care, perform required maintenance, and follow all operating instructions, safety standards, and guidelines when using Central Missouri owned vehicles.

Any accident involving Central Missouri owned or leased vehicles should be reported to Public Safety immediately.

The improper, careless, negligent, destructive, unsafe use or operation of vehicles, as well as excessive or avoidable traffic and parking violations, can result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. Fines resulting from violations are the responsibility of the vehicle driver. No smoking is allowed in Central Missouri owned vehicles.

University Telephones

Telephone and/or fax service is maintained for Central Missouri related business. It is recognized that some non-business calls are necessary. Such calls should be limited in number and duration. The employee is responsible for charges incurred with such calls.
