Dr. Nixon Opondo is a UCM alumni and an adjunct faculty member in the School of Technology at University of Central Missouri (UCM) with a broad range of experience in aerospace industry. He is currently working as a process engineer with the Boeing Company. His expertise ranges from Safety and quality control, aircraft maintenance, manufacture engineer planning, manufacturing technology analyst and intellectual property (IP) management control. Dr. Opondo is also proficient at leading and coaching Lean workshops, Project Management and Quality Management System. He is a holder of FAA Airframes and Powerplant (A&P) License with over 10 years’ experience working on military and commercial aircrafts.
Dr. Opondo earned his first Doctorate degree in Quality System Management from the National Graduate School of Quality and is currently a Doctoral candidate in Technology and Innovation Leadership program in Purdue University. He has a master’s in industrial technology (UCM), MBA in International Business and a BS in Aviation Technology (UCM). When not working or teaching, Dr. Opondo spends time with his family or in the community mentoring to youths and young adults to drive their interest in STEM programs.
