Dr. Ollison has been an instructor and professor at UCM since 2000. His educational background is based in Technology Education, Occupational Education, and Manufacturing Systems. As the coordinator and professor for the Engineering Technology program, Dr. Ollison knows the value of understanding science and engineering theories but also realizes the importance of applying those theories in the classroom and laboratories. Growing up on a farm in rural Missouri, Dr. Ollison had to work on everything from combines and tractors to cars and airplanes. This is where he not only learned how things worked but also gained an appreciation of how things were made and manufactured. Due to the applied emphasis of Engineering Technology, Dr. Ollison’s hands-on applied teaching approach is a great fit for this program.
Dr. Ollison has taught a variety of courses in the Engineering Technology program which includes:
Orientation to Engineering Technology, Introduction to Manufacturing Processes, Machine Tool Technology, Engineering Materials Science, Introduction to Welding, Lean Enterprises, Engineering Technology Problem Solving and Work Design & Ergonomics.
