Derek Crawford is an Associate Professor of Exercise Science at the University of Central Missouri (UCM), where he combines his passion for Sports and Performance Science with a strong collaborative relationship with the UCM Athletics teams and coaches. Dr. Crawford holds a Master鈥檚 degree in Health & Exercise Science and a PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Oklahoma, with post-professional work completed at Kansas State University. His expertise focuses on collecting, managing, and analyzing motion capture, workload, health, and performance data to support coaches in guiding players toward safer, more effective competition.

Dr. Crawford is an active member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), reflecting his commitment to staying engaged in research and practice. In addition to teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses, Dr. Crawford guides student research on improving athletic performance and health outcomes in competitive sports settings.
