Research Areas: Data Mining, Control and Optimization, and Differential Equations
Dr. Wang received his BS in Mathematics from Shandong University in 1985. He received his MS in Statistics and Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Wayne State University in 2001 and 2003, respectively. Dr. Wang became a faculty member of the University of Central Missouri in 2003 as an assistant professor and was promoted to full professor in 2013. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses such as Time Series Analysis, Data Mining, SAS Programming, Experimental Designs, Statistics and Data Analysis, Calculus, Complex Variables, and Advanced Calculus.
Dr. Wang is the 2007, 2009, and 2011 recipient of the Outstanding Scholarship and Creative Activity Award at the College of Science and Technology at UCM.
Dr. Wang’s research interests include data mining, control and optimization, and differential equations. He has published more than 50 research papers. Many of them appeared in prestigious peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Wang currently serves on the editorial board of the International Journal of Analysis. He is also an editor of the Missouri Journal of Mathematical Sciences and a reviewer for Mathematical Reviews.
