Research Areas: Functional Programming Languages, Software Engineering, Embedded Systems, Operating Systems, and the Internet of Things

Dr. Grebe received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Kansas in 2018. Additionally, he holds a Master's in Computer Science from the University of Colorado–Boulder, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska. He has 35 years of industry experience as a software engineer, working for Motorola, Wind River Systems, and Garmin. During his time in industry, he has developed software for the International Space Station communications system, other spacecraft and numerous other embedded devices, operating systems, cybersecurity applications, and avionics displays. His research interests include functional programming languages, software engineering, embedded systems, operating systems, and the Internet of Things. Dr. Grebe is also a GIAC Certified Secure Java Developer (GSSP-Java).
