The faculty of the Agriculture Department are dedicated to preparing you for your future. Each faculty member brings years of academic training and real-world experience to the classroom to help our students succeed. The Agriculture faculty have extensive contacts in both academia and industry that connect Agriculture students with employers for internships and careers. The Agriculture faculty are dedicated to seeing each Agriculture student find success in the career path they desire. To accomplish this, each Agriculture student will select an area of emphasis in either agribusiness management, animal science, agronomy, or horticulture. In addition, we also offer a degree in Agriculture Education for those students who want to share their love of agriculture with future generations. Agriculture students then work with each faculty member for that emphasis area and an academic advisor to develop a four-year plan for graduation.
Our outstanding facilities include two university farms designed for both interactive labs and student projects in agribusiness management, farm animal livestock production and row crop production, a greenhouse/nursery and high tunnel complex for horticulture production, a computer lab for agriculture students and a agriculture mechanics technology building. Hands-on experiential learning is essential in agricultural study, and as a student in our department, you will have ample opportunity to gain that experience.
We invite you to explore your educational possibilities as you begin your career in agriculture at the University of Central Missouri!
