Enroll in the University of Central Missouri's Clinical Medical Assistant with Externship certificate program and launch a new career in the high-demand, rewarding healthcare field. This program prepares students to assist physicians by performing duties related to clinical responsibilities in medical offices. You will learn to prepare patients for examination and treatment, conduct routine laboratory procedures and diagnostic testing as well as the technical aspects of phlebotomy (blood collection) and the cardiac life cycle. Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association Certified Medical Assistant examination. Through this program, students earn an industry-recognized certificate and continuing education units which may not be applied to a degree program and are not eligible for federal financial aid.
